If you are reading this then you need the read the tutorial instead… Don’t worry I got you.

Please refer to the GShade Quick Reference for everything related to this program.

For resources and downloads please scroll to the bottom of this post.

Prerequisites:

• Have “Sims2RPC” installed

• Have no other shades installed

• Have file extensions on to change the file names

1. Navigate to the GShade download page.

2. Click the “Windows Installer” Icon and download the GShade program.

3. Open the program.

4. Pick the language you want and click “Ok”

5. Click “I agree” on the terms of conditions

6. Under “Target Game or Program (.exe file)” Click “Browse”

7. Find your Sims 2 Ultimate Collection in “TSBin” in “Program Files x86” and select “Sims2EP9RPC.exe” and click “Open”

8. Then click “Next”

9. Check off the following boxes below:

   1. Executable Architecture:

      1. 32-Bit

10. Graphics API: (Please research your computer hardware to see what you can handle)

    1. DXVK (Experimental: For DirectX 9/10/11 Games)

       

       Note: This will only happen if your game can’t handle DXVK

    2. DirectX 10 (Only do this if you can’t handle the first option. I haven’t tried it out so I don’t know if this works)

    1. Hooking:

       1. Normal Mode

    2. Optional: (Leave these be)

    3. Final Fantasy XIV Presents: (Leave these be. They shouldn’t have any boxes checked)

11. Once that is done click “Install”

12. After everything is finished Please click “Browse” and find a place to hold your screenshots and contiune the installation until finished.

13. Open File explorer and look up the “TSBin” it might look like this “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin”

14. Find the file “dxgi.dll” select it and cut it. Move it to the “mods” folder and paste it there.

15. Rename it from “dxgi.dll” to “ReShade.asi” RPC will recongize the name when Sims 2 is launched.

15. Go back to change directory from “TSBin” to “TSData” to “Res” to “Config” and open “Graphics Rules.sgr” in Notepad or any similar software.

16. Find “seti Low 1” “seti Medium 2” “seti High 3” and change the numbers to all 3s.

17. On your keyboard tap “Ctrl + F” and type in “option DirtyRect” and tap “Enter”

18. Change the numbers on the ends of “dynamicRenderStrategy” to all 0s.

19. Click “File” and “Save” and close out the notepad.

20. Go online and find your presents for your Sims 2 game and pasted it in the “Customs” folder located here “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin\gshade-presets\Custom”

21. Now it’s time to open your “Sims2RPC” or whatever you renamed it. You should see the “ReShade.asi” in the list of mods.

22. Once the game is launched you should see the GShade menu run on top of the screen. Let the game load, it will say “Not Responding” but that is completely normal.

23. Tap “Shift + Backspace” on your keyboard once the game fully loads to the main menu.

24. Click “Settings” and set your Keys for GShade. “Overlay Key” “Shader Toggle Key” and “Previous Present Key” are the ones that are most important.

25. Also set the “Screenshot Key” to take screenshots.

26. Click “Home” and click “Presents” to find the ones you have downloaded.

27. Select the present you want to go with.

28. You can see it changed instantly.

29. Tap “Esc” to get out of it and click on any neighborhood.

30. Once you are in the neighborhood click the “three dots” on the bottom left and click “Graphic/Performance Options”

31. Go to “Smooth Edges” and set it to “Less” otherwise it could crash if set to “More”

32. Go back into GShade and just adjust effects relating to your present to get to how you like it.

33. Your completedly finished! Yay you did it!

Those were the main points of my summer. Some were life-changing and had more eye-opening experiences. Summer is only half over until my birthday has past then it’s gone and classes will begin again. I am excited for what comes!

A whole group of mixed characters, I would call my friends.

      Writing the script and making up the story was quite tricky. When thinking up what I wanted to do, I wanted it to have an impact everyone could know about or relate to. Ideas came and went, and I wanted to be better at what I tried to picture. It took quite a few hours for it to come to me. Domestic Violence Violence is what I want to show to others, but I put a twist on it. People see a heterosexual couple, always when discussing or representing domestic Violence. However, we never see a homosexual couple, specifically a lesbian couple, in these situations, so it was time to type up the script. However, another stump for me was getting the thought to paper and trying to type this up when I had a whole scenario. After taking a break from it, it all hit me coming all together late at night, and I was off to write it all, and I was non-stop.

      When I finished the script, there were only two people I had in mind for the roles of Peyton and Maggie: my best friend and her roommate. My best friend was down for it, but I needed clarification on her roommate. What do you say to someone, “Hey, can you be an abuser for a film I created?” It was weird, and I didn’t dare to ask just yet; I could get another pair of friends to do it. I’ve asked around, and people were a little uncomfortable about the idea and rejected the picture, which is understandable. However, when I was walking on campus and saw my best friend’s roommate, I asked her about the role. She was excited to portray the part and to get in contact with my best friend to set it up, and from then on, I had my characters: Pia Denby as Peyton and Masina Tupea as Maggie. Unfortunately, the only role to fill was the concerned friend named Frankie, and I initially thought that the part would be a male, but since it kept coming up empty, I thought I should change the role to a boy or a girl. It was decided on the day of filming that I would portray Frankie since no one else wanted to do it.

      Figuring out what day to film when everyone was studying and preparing for finals, they wanted Thursday, and I had to skip a class to get a head start on filming, which was beautiful. When I met them in their dorm room, I gave them the script to memorize and what to say. I was in the producer and director’s chair, telling them how to do the scene and what they should do. During the process, I let them improvise, and we had to change a couple of scenes because I got too into it and thought I could be in those places (i.e., the women’s bathroom). Both of my actresses were fantastic and doing things right. When it came to my scene, I should have practiced it, but I thought someone else would do it. But I felt like I gave myself the most complicated set ever. It was not easy, and you could see it. However, my camera skill was the proudest of this film. It took many tries, but I loved it, and this is my first film. Am I proud of it? Yes, I am, but still embarrassed during my scene. After around 4 hours, we finished taping, and it was a wrap on filming.

      I looked through the footage, and it was great—many bloopers but good footage to sacrifice. I decided to bring in a friend to help me edit the footage and make it all it could be. Dylen Ally is the name, and he is studying film and editing, and what better way than go to him for help to make this film unique and hope to take care of my scene. He did make a base edit for me, and I supplied him with all my suggestions of how I wanted the end product to look. Unfortunately, due to him being out of the state and away from his computer, I have to try and finish the film, and I am unsure how it will plan out and make my vision a reality. I went to Bowen and got to work editing my movie with Adobe Premiere Pro. I’m not too fond of this software because I’m not too familiar with it, and it works better with Sony Vegas Pro, but it isn’t working on my personal computer, so I’m stuck with it. It wasn’t easy to understand this premiere pro and how to get exactly what I wanted or, well, close to it. My vision isn’t exactly what I wanted, but that doesn’t mean it got the message across. The whole editing process took 6 hours to be done, and most of that was trying to get it working and what everything was.

      This film started as an idea that I wanted to create and came to life. I’m delighted that I finally got the end product done, and I got to thank my two actresses who saved my butt and were phenomenal with their acting. Unlike myself, I spent more time reading my lines and memorizing them. Everything took 3 to 4 weeks to do, and even though it’s not my best work, it is my first work. Now may I present to you The Call.

Your favorite shows and new movies that came out and are still coming have been fantastic. It’s such a shame that you haven’t seen them because you would be gaping at the surprises and twists that entertainment has. I miss the recommendations that we would watch together.

I turned 21, and I had my first legal drink with mom, Jenna, and even Aunt Sherri. I haven’t eaten anything that day, so drinking alcohol and having no food? Oof, we were waiting for a table to open up, so we all decided to go to the bar, and let me tell you, I was tipsy and having a grand ole time. I am upset I never had my first drink with you. My first drink with my old man would have been the happiest I think I could be. I can handle my liquor so well.

Jenna graduated with her master’s, and oh, she was happy. The US Open by Citii field was awesome looking. I really want to see a tennis match sometime. We were on the balcony, and trying to find her was hard. I had the camera to get shots of her, and I did her justice. She did look like a sim waving to the player, but her name was called, and I screamed the loudest and was scaring people around us. She did it. She graduated from college with her bachelor’s and masters.

Moxy, oh boy, that cat is really something else. You two would have gotten along really well and possibly on your nerves, depending on how she acted. I think she could have been your best friend, and the snuggles you would have had together. It would annoy mom less if you kept it company and distracted. It really is a shame that you never met her in person. But I am delighted I showed you her on facetime just a few weeks before you were gone. You were so excited.

I transferred schools because of you. After venting to you about my life in Rhode Island, you made me realize how much I missed everyone and pushed me to apply again for Pace even though, as a joke, I never thought I would go through with it. After researching it, Pace is finally supporting what I need to build my career and find out what I could do in life if I never attended Pace University.

Love. That’s a complicated word. I met a boy and dated this boy. It didn’t last long, only about a month. It turns out he had someone else. I wasn’t heartbroken. Was I upset? Not at first, but mostly just really annoyed. I couldn’t help but enjoy his presence. He was charming and kind and liked me for how I was. How I met him? It was a funny story… He was one of my friend’s neighbors, so I had the boy-next-door type, which made life more bright. I can’t wait until it happens again. I got a taste, and I am ready for more.

The three of us? Honestly, I feel like life hasn’t been fair to us since you were gone. You were really our good luck charm especially having a clover tattoo somewhere on your body. Life has been dim and quiet. No television is always on, no sports, no turner classic movies, no humming or grunting randomly, just an empty spot on the couch where you would always be.

We celebrated your birthday and got your favorite cake. Strawberry shortcake. It felt empty that day. Dim. We didn’t go anywhere. We celebrated at home.

I haven’t cried much since your funeral, just here or there. I knew how your health was, and in the back of my mind, I was always preparing for death. Never this soon, but I thought well off in my late 30s or early 40s. I was listening to Somewhere Only We Know by Keane, and that song reminded me of you and everything we did together. I started bawling, crying a horrid cry, and wouldn’t stop for 30 minutes. In the end, I was numb, and a headache was coming on. That could have been every time I didn’t. It all came at once.

I was you’re co-captain in the vehicle. We would go everywhere together. Nothing was impossible; the end goal was to get something to eat. Does that mean leaving the state? Oh yes. Amores! *laughs in Italian* We would travel near or far, but it will always be my best memories of us, taking each restaurant one menu at a time.

You are always there for me. Your opinion means a lot to me. You mean a lot to me. You left not by choice, but you left your best friend behind in a world that he is not really to navigate, even though it seems like it at times. I miss you every minute of every single day until death. That promise I can make. I love you, buddy, shit stain, old man, and Dad.
